The status quo in construction needs a change for the better. When two friends (Ayman and I) discussed the problem of outdated tech in construction the immediate feeling within us was too big, too hard and too much resistance to change. After research and many many discussions with colleagues working in the industry we decided to build a comprehensive solution. The status quo wasn't up-to par and industry veterans were eager for new solutions.
Technology has come a long way in the past decade. We've witnessed groundbreaking inventions like smartphones, tablets, and similar devices that have revolutionized the way we communicate, access information, and conduct business. Recent advancements in artificial intelligence and machine learning have started to reshape numerous industries, and the construction and mining sectors are no exception. So, why hasn't the construction industry caught up?
We see a gap! The construction industry is a major driving force behind the global economy, encompassing the construction of buildings, infrastructure, and engineering projects such as roads, bridges, and tunnels. Despite its significance and high revenues, it's astonishing to see that the industry still relies on outdated software technologies, some of which were developed over 30 years ago.
In 2022, Ayman and I decided that it was time for change, the old guard had a good run but new tech is needed now. The construction industry needs innovation, craves automation, screams for better ways of working, and demands efficiency. "Productivity must improve if we want our projects to succeed" was a common statement we heard over and over again in our research. The construction industry deserves better, and we know firsthand that it's been crying out for a secure, supportive, and easy-to-use construction management system. That's why Plexa was born.
